Open and Master's Competitors
Roy D. Willits, Jr. (48), Head Coach, began vaulting in 1969 or so, in junior high, and was the second Southern Arizona boy over 15', the first in Tucson. He competed at Central Arizona College, and at the University of Huston.  His lifetime PR is 16', and his over-40 PR is 13'7.  For a picture of Coach Willits warming up for the staff competition at the SKY Athletics camp, June 2002, click here.
Jennifer Croissant (38), one of the coaches, was 2000 Master's National Champ (10'0), 2001 North American Pole Vault Summit Master's Women's Champ (10') and holds various Southwest master's women's titles with a current personal best of 10'6 (3.20).
Connie Jerz, Tucson HS 2000.  Formerly Long Beach State and the University of Arizona. Current PR 14' 1-1/4, 4.30M (6/14/03).  Connie was NCAA outdoor runner-up, outdoors 2003, NCAA Indoor 3rd Place, 2004, NCAA Outdoors 7th place, 2004..

Richard Rivas (52), returns to vaulting and sets 'not in 30 years'  PR of 11'6' (6/04).
Stuart Hancock (52), returns to vaulting and sets a 'not in 30 years' PR of 10'0 (6/04).
Art Perry (62) has returned to vaulting after a 40 year break!
Richard Cunningham, returns to Tucson vaulting for the Pole Pilots in the M60-64 category.  Mr. Cunningham ia a Wildcat Alumni and former school record holder (1959) for the UA.
Dave Kalkwarf is sprinting and throwing javelin at 40+, as well as continuing a baseball hobby.
